Wed19th August 2014

Neil and I popped out to nearest (our usual) town in the morning. We went to Thorntons Cafe, I had a bacon on toast (no butter) and a cup of tea, see AM being good and limiting the lattes. After that we came hone. I did eat a chocolate eclair cake!
About 1:30pm 2 of my friends came round (Jaki and Colette) and we went to to the village pub for lunch. I opted for a ploughmans salad which was a bit limp with plastic cheese and small bread roll. I did gave a scone and cream afterwards.
We then sat outside the pub in their patio area drinking diet coke then teas/coffees. Here’s a few photos from the afternoon.

Leaving the pub.
It was a lovely afternoon. Colette called back for a coffee. I have managed to rebook one of the studio apartments at The Port Dinorwic Hotel than J and I stayed in a few weeks ago on my this time it’s going to be a girly night away, me Jaki and Colette. At least it means we only lost half the money instead of the full £254.
Something to look forward to in a few weeks.
Feeling a bit ‘angsty’, wish I didn’t get like this. No particular reason, I just feel anxious.  Maybe it will have gone by the morning? I hope.

Sitting in the sun

It has been lovely and sunny, and best of all I was just working half day today. Made a healthy lunch. Sat on the swing seat in the garden. Yikes.
Heard a noise and next minute was there with my butt on the grass, legs hanging over the edge of swing seat, wedged in bent almost double. Trapped.
The seat ripped and there I was stuck in the swing seat frame unable to move. Managed to txt Neil. No reply. Phoned the house phone, no reply. My back was hurting and my neck.
Managed to turn sideways and lie flat under the metalwork. Eventually got up.
Just as well no one had seen me.
Swing seat well and truly knackered. Next time I’m buying a bench!
My back’ s hurting tonight.
Am hoping the accident was wear and tear on the swing seat material and not my weight!!!!!!!

The swing seat is no more.

Feeling bit better

Still stressed but not as stressed. Had a lovely lunch out today with a friend (Elaine).I had a ham, cheese sandwich with homemade coleslaw. It was very relaxing, lovely and sunny out, a nice afternoon.
This morning J (my 23 yr old son) and I took R (my 16 yr old daughter), to her school for an English exam. J and I went to the local cafe for an hour or so then walked to shops then collected R THEN went back to cafe to get R and J lunch, I just had a cup of tea. It is so very rare that we get R out, that taking her to lunch (even when struggling with money) is a normal and nice thing to do. It’s lovely to see her smiling and chatting. She seemed quite positive about how her exam had gone.
I did fall asleep late afternoon. Got up Arghgh 10pm. Couldn’t be bothered eating so just had Muller light yogurt and cup of tea. I have my diabetic clinic in the morning. J is off to Uni for an exam and R has a science exam and is being picked up by the school.
Tomorrow evening I am going to a barbque arranged by work at a local cricket club. Fairly easy to follow Slimming World plan at a barbecue and I won’t be drinking as don’t drink alcohol these days.
I spray painted some garden furniture

Shoulders have been aching today. Maybe I’m just getting old!?

Days out

Yesterday I went out for the day with 2 lovely friends. We went to a country house estate called Dunhem Massey. The large house was used as a military hospital during the first world war. We had a lovely light lunch there, I had carrot and honey soup with a wholemeal roll.
It poured down the whole time but luckily was not cold, we spent time round the house. The gardens look beautiful but we’ll have to save that for a dry day!
A big thank you to Elaine for driving us there. A lovely day with Elaine and Andrea.
Today I went with Jonathans to West Kirby, nice and sunny out. We went to Lattitudes for all-day breakfast and a wander round. Now it’s raining again!

Well, getting weighed tomorrow night. Yet again had too many forgotten nibbles this week. This coming week I shall make more of an effort.
Still struggling to keep my blood sugars steady, but tightening up what I am eating will certainly help.
Am in work all week cept Friday as this is when I go into hospital for the day to get my shoulder manipulated under anaesthetic. last time when I had my right shoulder done I felt so sick from the anaesthetic and intravenous morphine and tramadol mix. Felt better after a few days. Will need to take painkillers for a few weeks afterwards.
Hah might put a stop to the snacking!
Am going to lighten my hair. I actually prefer it dark but it’s  hard to look good with pale and washed out skin!
Tried a dress in that I wore at Christmas, it was very tight then, and now it’s much looser, more comfortable.

Bye for now!

Lunch

Took J out for lunch today to a local pub. Very nice. It is so lovely out, feel I should be outside in the sunshine!

Was debating whether to have a coffee in Heswall but came home instead. Maybe I can get Neil to go for a walk later? Feeling a bit post-lunch lazy at the moment. I do like to sleep!
Went for a walk round the block with Neil, blew a few cobwebs away. Feeling a bit blah, sometimes it’s hard to get on top of feeling down moods.
In the middle of cooking a Slimming World quiche for later and lunch tomorrow.
Cottage cheese , tub of
3 eggs
Mix altogether and bake. Usually I pop other things in it like onion, tomatoes or peppers but didn’t have any in the fridge.
Time to relax now

Being Good

Can’t say I’ve been that good, but not that bad either!
Went out for lunch Tuesday with my son (23) J and after-in-law who’s 84. It’s lovely to get out with J, though he can talk your head off!!!! We went to a pub in the village that serves lovely food, 2 courses for £5:45. I had veg soup n roll (with butter) for starter and then quiche and chips and salad with coleslaw. It was so yummy!
Neil and I did go fir a 40 minute walk round another village, a really pretty village, later on.

My beautiful girl.
Can’t believe it’s 3:47 am and I am still awake, so is Neil. I did have a long sleep in the afternoon till 10pm. Must stop doing this. I keep saying this. Can’t say I’m particularly tired though.

Off work

Am off for a week. Only my family (me, Neil,Jonathan’s and Rhi) could have an argument on how we all need to eat healthier and do some exercise.
DID ok today. Made everyone eat breakfast (toast), yes I know there are healthier options.
Lunch was chicken, mash and veg. Tea was homemade meat balls with spaghetti. I did have cornflakes in the evening late. Grrrrrrrrr……….
Spent most of the day sorting out the bedroom, stuff for charity and stuff to be chucked out.
Rhi had a friend round all day which was great for her.

DID fall asleep late afternoon for a few hours, simply must stop doing this because am not sleeping well at night.
